It is sink or swim if Nigerians are not allowed to pick their own president in 2023.

I think Tinubu and Atiku do not understand how uncomfortable Nigerians are feeling when they grapple with the idea that one of them could be at the helm of Nigeria come 2023.

Nothing wrong with being a candidate for Nigerian presidency on a good day, but Nigeria is anything but good and it has been like this for over 20 years.

Today, Nigeria is almost finished, financially, morally, educationally and many other ways. There is poverty and untold ills in our country. Nigerians have now lost hope in our Nation. Nigeria has been described as the “Giant of Africa”. But we have lost the “Gi”, and we are now just the “ants of Africa”. Most Nigerians now want the nation to break up as the only solution to begin a revival.

This is the result of having the old guard at the wheel since about 1980. Tinubu and Atiku are both members of that “old guard” that have run Nigeria to the ground.

We have lost over 50 years of Nigerian youthfulness to corruption. Generations of Nigerians in their 50s and 60s today are still waiting in line for their turn to loot the federal coffers rather than looking forward to a graceful retirement. Corruption is how they have grown up, it’s what they saw. It has happened in front of them and it’s how it will continue now it’s their turn to run Nigeria. Tinubu and Atiku are the fathers of this generation.

Since Peter Obi has stepped forward as a Presidential candidate the Nigerian people have been given hope. His presidential bid has brought the much-needed calm and suddenly Nigerians no longer want to break up their beautiful nation. I am afraid the opposite will happen, Nigeria will fall apart, if Obi is prevented from leading the nation.

Peter Obi has displayed his understanding of the problem and the capacity to apply modern day solutions. When he speaks, Nigerians have “hope”. The people want change, and this is very important factor in achieving the change our nation needs.

We Nigerians accept we have done things badly in the past, but who will tell us that? Peter Obi is making us accept this. Even the pastors and Northern leaders are openly coming out that they want him, hence PVC is trending across Nigeria.

With Obi on board, Nigerians are not only prepared to stay together, but they are also displaying a will to work together, to make Nigeria better. Neither Tinubu nor Atiku have the same effect. Nigerian do not have the strength to work with these candidates due to their open involvement in our current downfall and suffering, whether direct or indirect.

I am not saying Tinubu or Atiku are bad men, but they do not have the effect Peter Obi has on Nigerians. The Obi effect is generating the spirit of Hope that we need to unite so prosper our country may prosper.

I fear that if we reject this chance, then Nigeria may truly break up.

These 2023 presidential elections are a crucial moment in Nigeria’s history, and that is why I say it is time for Atiku and Tinubu to be obedient more than anything else. It is sink or swim if Nigerians are not allowed to pick their own president in 2023.
