The Chairman of Lagos State chapter of the South-South Forum of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Anthony Muzan Ekpelu has commended the effort of its founding fathers, while calling on Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State to run for presidency in the 2023 election.
Ekpelu, did say the foresight of the founding fathers has engendered unity amongst members as well as giving them political inclusion and relevance in Lagos and other South West states.
At a stakeholders meeting with the people of the zone in Amuwo Odofin, Lagos, he also commended the “developmental strides” of the South-South governors, while disclosing that the forum considers Wike as a superlative performer hence their plea and assurance of support.
In his speech at the occasion, Chief Philip Edebe, founder of South South Forum in Lagos, said he was motivated to bring together the people of the zone having realised through his study that his region formed bulk of eligible voters that participated during the 1999 general election which ensured victory for former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
He said that singular act and foresight of along with other compatriots galvanised the people which according to him later became rallying points for their unity and mobilisation and ultimately a winning streak for the PDP in years to come.
However, he advised the present leadership to strive to achieve the aims and objectives of the group for the benefit of her people.

On his part, Chief Jelili Alebiosu, Amuwo Odofin PDP LGA chairman, thanked the group for being steadfast, which he noted ensured victory for the LGA, particularly in the House of Representatives.
Also, Engr. Engbi, chairman of PDP South-South forum in Amuwo Odofin thanked leaders of the zone for putting up the event and assured them that he will continue to mobilise and encourage the people to always stand up for the cause of the zone, party and the nation at large.
Engbi, as well appealed to Ekpelu to carry the people along in his administration for the benefit of all.
