The fight is finished, Edo has moved on. I don’t care if GO fled Edo state at night or day, by foot or aeroplane, private jet or bicycle, I am simply overjoyed he is gone.
The main reason for this joy is saying “Goodbye to Betrayal”. A stench that accompanied GO for 8 years around Edo State and successfully yielded deep divisions amongst the Edo people worldwide. Betrayal- a trait Edos rejected, became the order of the day in Edo State because it was coming from the very top.
I spent all my life in Edo State, and I never thought a day will come when one, if not our most important core Edo value will change. I thought the Edo spirit was unshakable until GO confused our whole Edo Being. I have never seen anything like this in Edo State
Senior brothers, who I grew up with, who worked in the GO administration, have changed and not for the better. They became enemies with their peers who have no interest in government contracts or jobs simply because they were defending the “Betrayal”. This is not how we were raised in Edo State, and this was confusing.
Good or bad, people will work for GO and he won’t pay them what he agreed. He will turn the Edo people against them and get his people from Lagos in. Many Edos clapped for him because they are angry or envious of the Edo people GO was betraying. This is not right. But GO carried on betraying, making me feel this is all he knows how to do, because he had the power of government which ends today.
As for today, I am not bothered by his achievements or EFCC because I know if Edos do not unite, many of those GO projects will not be continued.
So, thank you and get-out Mr Obaseki, let Edos see if we can put our house in order again and save all these projects for the sake of the Edo people.
