WHY I DO NOT BLAME APC EDO STATE RIGHT NOW.
For 8 years Obaseki claimed everybody was against him because he did not share Edo money. Many Edos clapped for him rather than face the truth that Obaseki was sneaked into governance through the back door and his approach was doomed to fail.
Today, all the noise from Edo state about APC is because of Godwin Obaseki’s inability to manage or lead in governance. All Godwin’s plans were linked to absolute power and nothing else. Take power away and he is left with nothing else. He failed all the detailed test but was respected as long as he had the power as Governor of the state.
Over time everything he said he has achieved as Edo governor will be eroded because he executed them with power and not consensus.
I hope the Obaseki wailers are also learning their own lessons. Godwin gave you a false reality of governance. In hindsight, don’t you just wish Godwin Obaseki handled situations better when he was governor?
Edo State is now under local management in APC and they will share the money more than what GO would have shared to them. Where is GO and his wailers now to stop them? Would it not have been easier to advice Godwin to do better then?
Even in these early days I don’t blame APC Edo state for their actions. I blame the prior government of Godwin Obaseki for messing up spectacularly by grossly abusing power and normalising betrayal of political goodwill. He is powerless now and back in Lagos with his consultants as predicted.
