The Senior Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom State Governor on Youth Matters has extolled Governor Udom Emmanuel for working tirelessly to ensure peace in the state.
Comrade Aniefiok Iwaudofia spoke on Sunday during the June Edition of the Monthly Youth Prayer Conference held at The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Obot Idim Nsit Area Headquarters, Nsit Ubium LGA.
While congratulating the Governor on his six years of administration, the Governor’s Aide who doubles as Chairman of the State Youth Caucus noted that the monthly prayer Conference has contributed to the lasting peace enjoyed in the State.
“Your administration has been non-comparable to any other administration in the history of Akwa Ibom State,” he said. “When other states are fighting, killing themselves, here in Akwa Ibom State, we are singing hallelujah.”
According to him, “my colleagues from other states ask me how we’re doing that people are relocating to Akwa Ibom. Those in the hospitality industry will tell you that they have full bookings every day, that’s because of the influx of persons into Akwa Ibom, from neighbouring states. They are looking for a peaceful place.”
He continued: “Your Excellency, this would not have been possible if God has not been with you. That is why we’ve enjoyed enduring peace. Comparatively in the entire 36 states, Akwa Ibom State is relatively the most peaceful.”
The SSA also vowed that youths in the state will harken to the Governor’s directives on the choice of his successor in 2023.
Speaking at the event, the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel saluted youths of the state and thanked them for their tremendous support over the past six years.
Represented by the Commissioner for Transport and Mineral Resources, Rt. Hon. Eno Etim Uno, the Governor restated his commitment to empowering youths of the state through meaningful ventures.
Earlier in his sermon tagged ‘Be still and Know I am God’, Apostle Morgan Ebong had charged Christians to trust in God during trying times.
He called on youths in the state to seek God’s grace in their daily endeavours, while shunning acts that are inimical to their future.
The service which featured bible reading, recitation of Dakkada Creed, intercessory prayers and goodwill message among others was moderated by Special Assistant to the Governor on Project Monitoring, Mr. Christopher Jerry and had in attendance top government functionaries.
